Eliav, Eliyahu (Eli)


Son of Hemda and Yehuda. He was born in 1922 in Rehovot and completed his studies in the elementary school in the city, where he had two great loves for Eli, the sport and the music, and was an outstanding athlete and played in the Maccabi soccer team. The second world Eliyahu volunteered for the British army and was stationed in the Air Force, serving in Egypt, Greece, and Libya on February 16, 1944, when his plane was hit over the Aegean Sea on the way to Sicily. In 2017 he was found to be immortalized in ALAMEIN MEMORIAL, El Alamein, Egypt. His burial is unknown.
