Efremshili, Avraham

Son of Zippora and Yitzhak, was born on the 28th of Tishrei (22.10.1958) in Georgia in the Soviet Union. He immigrated to Israel with his family in January 1972. At the end of January 1976, Avraham enlisted in the army, serving as a cook at the brigade headquarters, and during the first few months of his service the situation worsened and Avraham, who saw himself as responsible, found it difficult to continue functioning properly. After his discharge, he worked for Tnuva in Be’er Sheva, where Avraham and Sima had three children: Ilanit, Eliahu and Menashe-Mani, and was assigned to reserve duty by the Southern Front Command. His commanders regarded him as a modest soldier, who fulfilled his duty with great dedication and seriousness. On May 26, 1997, Avraham went to active reserve duty in his unit. He was attached to a liaison battalion and assigned as a cook at the Sagi outpost. On the second day of Sivan (7.6.1997), Avraham took sick and died at the age of thirty-nine. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva, leaving behind a wife, three children, a mother and five brothers and sisters.
