Dvash, Rachamim


Son of Roth and Shalom, was born in 1925 in Benghazi, in Cyrenaica. He graduated from high school and served as a Hebrew teacher in his city. In 1944 he immigrated to Israel with his parents and lived in the “Benghazi” neighborhood of Bnei Brak. In Israel, he made a living from his work. At first he worked in a weaving factory in Ramat Gan, and later in another factory. Had national recognition. In early 1948 he was called to serve in the Alexandroni Brigade. And was meticulous about what he had been given. On the 26th of Iyar 5708 (June 4, 1948), when he returned from a short vacation, he went with his friends to attack the Arab village of Kakun in the Sharon, and at the time of its conquest he fell. Rahamim was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya.
