Dorny, Shlomo


Son of Yechiel and Zahara. Born on August 5, 1932 in Yemen, the family immigrated to Israel in 1943. Shlomo completed his studies at the elementary school in Shfeya, and then studied for one year at the high school there and another year in Netanya. 1950 and took part as a trainee in the course of the Nahal Brigade. Served in many positions as a guide and commander, in which he was shown with his devotion and loyalty. Finally he reached the rank of captain. When he served in the permanent army, he took the Akhtar exams and stood up. He became fond of all his friends and commanders, as he stood ready to bear the burden, as a sign of what was going on around him and as a good and loyal friend. During his service in the various units of the Nahal, he was highly regarded among the Nachalim as a man and a commander. In the course of his duties, he was seriously injured and twelve hours later in hospital died of his wounds; He was laid to rest in the civil cemetery in Even Yehuda, where he left a wife and a son, and his family and friends took out a booklet containing memories of him and his personality.
