Shmuel, son of Penny and Morris, was born on July 15, 1952 in Hadera. When he was a child, his parents moved to Jaffa, where he studied at the Neve Tzedek elementary school. Since his childhood he discovered talents for handicrafts, his parents decided to send him to a vocational school and Shmuel was accepted to the ORT vocational high school in Yad Shapira. Shmuel studied carpentry and excelled in his profession. Much of his work was done for his parents’ home – a wall cupboard, tables and chairs that still decorate the house. Shmuel was very attached to his family, and during his army service he sent them a letter every day. He had many friends as well, for he was a lively and energetic boy with a sense of humor that brought him closer to him. Although he grew up in a rather difficult life, did not accept his fate and stood out above the rest of the neighborhood boys. Apart from handicrafts, which was his main hobby, he dealt a great deal in sports, table tennis and soccer. Shmuel was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in early May 1970 and was assigned to the Armored Corps, where he completed a tank artillery course and a tank course in early May 1973. In early 1973, after his discharge from the regular army, he returned to his previous occupation of carpentry. His unit participated in the most difficult battles in the battle: the counterattack of “TV”, the battle for the breakthrough and the breakthrough to the Suez Canal, the battle of the Egyptian armored corps in the “Lakan” and the battles of the agricultural barrier west of the Suez Canal on October 22, 1973, , His platoon was sent to accompany paratroopers in the area south-west of Ismaily.In the battle that took place there between our forces and enemy forces, He and Samuel died.
