David-Zada, Shlomo
Son of Mordechai and Rivka. He was born in Israel in 1951. His family immigrated to Israel in 1951 and moved to Jerusalem in 1956, when his family moved to Givatayim where he completed his studies at the Emunim religious elementary school. He was a member of the “Noar HaOved” movement and was active in sports (football, volleyball and swimming) and was fond of conducting tours throughout the country. In November 1965. His ambition was to serve in the navy, but because his request was rejected, he joined a combat unit and entered the Golani Brigade. He did not complain, he accepted everything with love and self-evident, his mood was always high, he had a smile on his face and a song in his mouth, and he was proud that his unit had participated in the various reprisals, but he did not say much He also participated in the march of the Six Day War, when he joined a small group of fighters who, along with the deputy company commander, was trying to clear another section of a canal where he had died. It was the fifth day of the battles, which took place at the military cemetery in Afula and was later transferred to the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. In Givatayim, the Municipal Information Bulletin and local life, published by the municipality, his memory was commemorated, and his name was immortalized in “The Book of the Fallen” published by the Givatayim Municipality.
