Darius, Judea

Darius, Judea

Son of Miriam and Yefet, was born on October 29, 1929 in Yemen and immigrated to Israel from Adan in February 1935. He studied in an elementary school until fifth grade and later began working in horticulture because he had a deep love for nature. At first Yehuda was isolated from his friends and isolated to himself, but in time he grew into a clever, Simcha, cheerful boy. This period of his life did not last long. His parents noticed changes in his character, he became closed and silent, and his eyes looked sad. One day he revealed to his family his secret: he joined the underground that fought British rule in Palestine. With the establishment of the Israel Defense Forces, he joined his ranks. He took part in the battles of Falluja and was wounded there when he was in a mine. He recovered from his wounds, but suddenly fell ill, underwent surgery at Beilinson Hospital and died on March 7, 1949. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Rehovot.
