Dahood, David


Son of Nzima and Yitzhak. Born on the 4th of Adar, February 5, 1946 in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. At the end of 1963, David enlisted in the IDF and volunteered for the Border Guard, where he was assigned as a combat soldier. He took part in the pursuit of terrorists and in many operations along the border. After completing his mandatory service, he joined the Israel Police. During a patrol conducted by the force in Jenin, the soldiers encountered a squad of terrorists. In the ensuing battle, two of the terrorists were killed, but a grenade thrown at the force exploded and David was killed on the spot. Police officer David Dahud fell during his duty on the 14th of Kislev, 24.11.1969.
He was buried in the military cemetery in Haifa. Twenty-one years after David’s death, his son Yitzhak died at the age of twenty-three, the age of his father, when he fell in battle.
