He wrote and wrote songs on various subjects, and their names testify to the world of this young man: “The mother”, “life”, “pain” , “The”, “The World”, “Politics”, “Alumim” and “The Poet.” Poetry did not make him a young solitary and eccentric; On the contrary – he still found time for him to do much. He was a counselor at the kibbutz’s adoption center, treated youth from other communities, played on Dalia’s basketball team and participated in all the company’s activities in the agriculture. In the late hours of the night he went to study and read, read and write. Gideon was drafted into the IDF in early November 1968 and was assigned to the Armored Corps, and after completing basic training he successfully completed various professional courses in the Armored Corps and the Armored Corps, including a tank commander course. Even as a soldier and commander, Gideon did not abandon everything he loved – poetry, writing, touring the landscape of the country and marveling at the splendor of nature. Despite being an outstanding soldier, he was not deterred from expressing his opinions in condemnation of wars. I am one of those / tired of war, wounded / killed … / tired of mines and nervous finger on the trigger / every night, every night, Every night / I am a soldier. ” Even when he was a tank commander in the Golan Heights, he looked up at nature: “I take my head out of the commander’s turret and look at the Yaffa Yarmuk landscape from heights.” After being released from regular service, Gideon realized an old dream – to see the world, and especially the Far East, his Lev’s desire. For a year he wandered between India and Japan. Full of experiences and deep impressions returned to Israel and managed to spend only a month in the family and among friends in the agriculture, until the war broke out. In the Yom Kippur War, Gideon was a tank commander in the battle against the Syrians in the Golan Heights. In a battle that took place on the 11th of Tishrei 5740 (7.10.1973) he was hit in his tank and killed. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery of Dalia.
