Cotton, Oded

Son of Samson and Rebecca. He was born on the 26th of Sivan 5702 (June 6, 1942) in Tiberias. He studied at the elementary school and then at the high school in Dafna and completed his studies there. He belonged to the Hanoar Haoved movement. From his youth he was closed to himself, as if he was troubled by various problems and was dying to find solutions for them. He found expression in his drawing and in every work of art, because he was gifted with intelligence, so his Lev was attracted to technique, electricity, radio and electronics – and the real professions were his favorite. Finally he served as a mechanic in the agriculture. He was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in November 1960 and entered the air force, but from the moment he left his home, he was drawn back to live and work there, and he was honest and loved by all who knew him. He strove to continue on the path he had begun, but on May 6, 1962, he fell while serving as a pilot. His burial was first conditional on the military cemetery at Rosh Pina and afterwards he was laid to rest at the cemetery in Kibbutz Dafna. On the first anniversary of his death, Meshko took out a booklet in his memory.
