Cohen, Moshe

Moshe, son of Nadra and Sa’adia Cohen, was born in 1932 in the city of Mashab, Yemen. In 1943 he immigrated to Israel. When he grew up, he worked in the weaving industry. Moshe volunteered enthusiastically in the War of Independence. He became part of the Givati Brigade whose ranks fought in the south, and participated in the seventh attack on the Iraq-Suiden Police. The force managed to break through the fences, but heavy enemy fire forced him to retreat and that is when he was killed. This battle took place on the 18th of Tishrai, October 21, 1948. Moshe was laid to rest on the 16th of Shevat, January 23, 1951 in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
