Cohen, Hezekiah (Yechezkel)

He was born on Thursday, February 22, 1950, in Ramat Gan Hezekiah studied at the Yehalam Elementary School in Ramat Gan and at the ORT high school in the textile track, and completed the matriculation exams on his own in the framework of external studies. 1970 Hezekiah was drafted into compulsory army service. He volunteered for the Paratroopers Unit, successfully completed the long and difficult basic training course, took a paratroop training course and was assigned to serve in the Paratroopers Brigade. After a period he was sent to the truck drivers course and assigned to serve in the Chief Education Officer’s Headquarters. Hezekiah was to be discharged from the army in November 1973. He was discharged from compulsory service in April 1974. He completed his studies at the University of Be’er Sheva in April 1974. Hezekiah completed his bachelor’s degree as a chemical engineer, In 1988 he married his girlfriend Ora and in October 1990 his only daughter was born – Hezekiah was a warm, loving and devoted family man, his little daughter was very fond of him. Which he had for all the animals, and even as a child, he collected animals for him Hezekiah loved to travel, and was very active in sports, especially riding a bicycle, and he was very intelligent and liked woodwork and carpentry, and his friends from the reserve service said that Hezekiah stood out as an intelligent, In early December 1991, Hizkiyahu was called up for reserve duty and went with his unit to an outpost on the western border with Egypt. On December 31, 1991, he fell while carrying out his duties. During a patrol sent to the Netafim area, Rimon and Hizkiyahu were critically wounded. He was transferred to Yoseftal Hospital in Eilat, but died three hours later. Hezekiah was laid to rest in the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery. Survived by Raya – Ora, Bat – Tal, mother and two sisters – Liora and Ziva.
