Cohen, David


David, son of Sarah and Eliezer, was born on September 3, 1952 in Tel Aviv. He attended the “Pnei HaGiva” elementary school in Ramat-Gan, then continued his studies at the Rokach elementary school in Yad Eliahu and at the “Shevach” vocational school in Tel Aviv. After completing high school, he studied drama. David was a diligent student, loved by his teachers and friends. He was very friendly with people and managed to make many friends. He was always able to encourage his associates in difficult moments and raise their spirits. He took part in various performances at the school and in the Hanoar Haoved movement, and mixed them with songs that both the lyrics and melodies were written by him. He was a member of the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed movement and took an active part in all its activities, especially in the fields of culture and entertainment. He organized the Sabbath evenings in the movement and organized various circles. From his youth he was a sports fan, especially soccer, and had practiced for a while in the basketball game. For three years he worked in the Nahal paramilitary group of Hanoar Haoved, first in Kibbutz Grofit in the Arava (thanks to his initiative, many young people joined Grofit), later in Kibbutz Erez in the Negev. He was survived by a father, mother and brother. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant.
