Cohen (Batikov), Avraham Mordechai (“Motke”)


Son of Menachem-Manish and Clara. He was born on April 24, 1943 in Jerusalem, where he began his studies at the “Talmud Torah” school, where he studied at the Marom Zion vocational high school in Beit Vagan. He worked in the reserves, served in the reserves and was a member of the NRP’s young guard and took part in its activities. He participated in the Six-Day War and fell in a battle that took place in Sanhedria, Jerusalem, the capital on the second day of the fighting, on the 27th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967). Was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. In November 1969, there was an impressive ceremony when a Torah scroll was inserted to commemorate the synagogue of Kiryat Metersdorf in the Romema neighborhood of Jerusalem; The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Israel Defense Forces, Knesset members and public figures, and a memorial plaque was erected in the Beit She’an neighborhood, commemorating his name and memory, and his name was immortalized in a booklet of the ” Erlich, his memory was commemorated, and his name was also commemorated in the weekly “Face to Face”.
