Cohen, Adi
Adi, son of Zipporah and Yoram Cohen, was born on September 3, 1987 in the Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Hadera. On November 24, 2005, Adi enlisted in the IDF and began his training in the Ofek battalion of the 101st battalion of the Paratroopers Brigade. Four months of basic training continued, followed by another three months of advanced training. The route was arduous and fraught with difficulties, but Adi, who was very motivated, was determined to overcome all the problems, and even encouraged and helped his friends. The Second Lebanon War, which broke out on July 12, 2006, put an end to the rest and calm, and only two weeks after his swearing-in, despite the meager operational experience and the high quality of the fighters, Adi was killed in the battle of ‘Aita al-Sha’ab in the western sector of southern Lebanon on August 2, 2006. Adi was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Hadera, just one month before his 19th birthday. Survived by parents and three brothers. After his fall he was promoted to sergeant.
