Chevyon, Ofer


Ofer, son of Shlomit and Mordechai Chevyon, was born in 1965 in Jerusalem. When he was nine years old, his parents were sent on a scientific mission to the state of New Jersey for three years. Upon their return to Israel, Ofer was recruited to the IDF and was sent to basic training in order to serve in a technical course in the IAF. Ofer preferred to serve as a combat soldier and volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade. On the 11th of Tammuz (18.7.1986), Ofer fell during his service. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Survived by his parents and two brothers.
