Ben Sarah and Shaul. He was born on 27.1.1967 in Moshav Ganei Am in the Sharon region. Ronen began his studies at the Kfar Malal Elementary School and graduated with honors from the Ami Assaf High School in Beit Berl. Ronen continued to study for one year as part of the technological reserve at the Amal B high school in Petah Tikva and completed his studies with a technician’s certificate for equipment and control. Ronen stood out as a neat and clean student. In school, his teachers assigned him tasks that required order and responsibility, knowing that he could be trusted. When he was in 11th grade, Ronen went to Germany as a member of a youth delegation from the surrounding communities, and when he completed high school he received the Israel Yeshayahu Sharabi Prize for Outstanding Students in Technological Education. Ronen was a member of the “youth movement of the moshav movement” and took part in the activities and camps held by the movement. For many years he participated in the “Omer” parade organized by the regional council every year on Lag Ba’Omer, and at a later age he and other members of his family participated in popular navigation activities and participated in the crossing of the Sea of Galilee every year. The postal manager at the Hod Hasharon branch said that he had never been so calm and confident as Ronen Abed, who played his part well, responsibly and thoroughly. And volunteered for the infantry, for the Golani Brigade. After completing his course in combat medics, he was placed in the brigade as a combat medic and served in the territories during the intifada. The assessment in his personal file reads: “Excellent soldier, serious investor”. Ronen studied in professional courses and received the rank of First Sergeant. When he completed his regular service, he wrote in his release card: “Has a serious, responsible, punctual, honest, thorough and disciplined ability to think.” After graduating from the IDF, Ronen studied at the School of Practical Engineering at Tel Aviv University and completed his studies two years later, with a degree in Instrumentation and Instrumentation Engineering, and Ronen began working at Eltan Technologies in Gan Ha’am and excelled at his work. You proved to us that ‘there is someone to rely on.’ “Ronen was called for reserve duty and was assigned to a infantry battalion in the south of the country. On June 5, 1995, Ronen was called up for reserve duty, and during the reserve duty, Ronen was killed while carrying out his duties, and was killed when he was driven to a military post in the Arava, where he had to fill the position of combat medic. During the interrogation, it turned out that the military vehicle was used by a reservist who had no driver’s license, and that the IDF’s licensing authority mistakenly authorized the reserve soldier to drive a military vehicle, even though he did not have a civilian driver’s license. This failure caused Ronen’s death. Ronen was laid to rest in Moshav Ganei Am. He was twenty-eight years old when he fell. Survived by his parents, two brothers – Shai and Gil and a sister – Yifat. In a condolence letter to the family, Chief of Staff Amnon Lipkin-Shahak wrote: “Ronen was described by his friends as a serious soldier with a high personal level, who took care of his seriousness in order to achieve perfection.” Ronen added: “Ronen radiated diligence and excellence to those around him. He fulfilled his role as a combat medic in exemplary manner and with great devotion. “Tu Rabindranath Tagouri: “One day we will know that death can not rob us of what our soul has won, for the soul and its achievements are one and the same.”
