Carmeli, Shawn Nissim

Shawn Nissim, son of Dalia and Alon Carmeli, was born on May 12, 1993 in Texas in the United States. On June 19, 2012, Shawn Nissim joined the IDF, serving as a combat soldier in the Golani Brigade. During Operation Tzuk Eitan against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Shawn Nissim was killed, on July 20, 2014. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa, leaving parents and two sisters, and was raised after his fall to the rank of sergeant.
