Buchris, Shlomo (Shlomi)
Shlomo, son of Sarah and Rafael Buchris, was born on April 3, 1970 in Afula. Shlomi enlisted in the IDF in late January 1989. Since he was highly motivated, he served in the 50th Battalion of the Nahal Brigade and joined the “Orev” nucleus in Kibbutz Admit in the Galilee. When the Second Lebanon War broke out, Shlomi was unable to understand why he was not drafted, especially after his brother Rami had already received an order. He waited for the call and when it arrived he immediately reported. Shlomi fell in battle on the northern border on August 6, 2006, at the age of thirty-six. After his death, Shlomi was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Moshav Sde Yitzhak.
