Brett, Ze’ev (Zevi)

Brett, Ze’ev (Zevi)

Son of Simcha and Miriam. He was born on June 30, 1954 in Tel Aviv. After a few years, the family moved to Holon. Ze’ev studied at the AD Gordon Elementary School in Tel Aviv, and was not very enthusiastic about his studies, but he did his job unquestioned, “In his essays,” says his teacher, “the fact was that he had something to say. Had a rich soul and a surprising and precise ability to express himself. His works are full of beauty and interest, written in a delicate and Yaffa style. All he did – with great calm and mental calm he did. And another attribute of this – its passivity. If it is difficult, there is no wolf willing to bear the difficulty. “The willingness to bear the difficulty, along with the education for the love of the homeland, that his parents and school gave him, led him to enter the military boarding school next to the Herzliya Gymnasium, He was exposed to the eyes of his friends and teachers, not as a man of fine words, but as a man of fine deeds, who stands in the daily effort, in the arduous night work and the hard work, With genuine modesty and with great love for the way of life he chose The crowning glory of his four years of studies at the boarding school was the drop-off course, which took place during the summer vacation between grades 11 and 12, which earned him the right to wear the wings of the paratrooper. And after a pleasant trip to Europe, he arrived on November 1, 1972. Many soldiers winked at him, and he wondered how much he would choose. But Ze’ev stood with both the effort and the great suspense, passed a course after a course successfully and rose to the rank of command. Ze’ev’s commanders accompanied his military path with many words of appreciation and exits. In the report of the end of the pilots and navigators training series in January 1975, it was recorded: “Its level as a high vector. Plays a serious role, adult and responsible. With high skills and willingness to work. “In his report on an interview with Ze’ev from July 21, 1975, we read:” I assessed his flight level as high, he is good in all fields, on the ground – responsible and mature in his approach. It is very good for him to become one of the pillars of the tendencies and of the younger generation as a whole. ” In an opinion published on November 24, 1975 – two days before the fall of Ze’ev – it was said: “A high level of flight, a positive personality, good thinking, a high level of fitness, a person who is friendly and friendly.” He had just begun to fulfill his commitment to a permanent but heavenly year of service, seeking to pave a path in flight, preventing him from fulfilling his commitment to the end, and continuing to contribute to his homeland from his manhood and his loyalty. In an airplane accident, in the course of his duties, he fell on the 26th of Kislev 5736 (November 26, 1975). He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Holon. Survived by his parents and brother. The family members commemorated their loved ones in a memory file.
