Boyland, Guy

Guy, son of Edva and Glenn Boyland, was born in 1993 in New Zealand. When he was five years old, the family immigrated to Israel, and lived in Kibbutz Hokok. Guy was awarded a scholarship for music studies, and he spent most of his time making music. He had warm and good relations with the whole family. On November 22, 2011, Guy joined the IDF. He served in the “Lahav” battalion, which was attached to Brigade 7, the “Saar Golan”. What stood out was his perpetual smile and his willingness to help and assist anyone who needed it. Guy fell in battle during Operation Tzuk Eitan on 28 Tamuz, July 25, 2014. The courage of Guy and his comrades in the squad apparently prevented many other soldiers from being hurt. Guy was twenty-one years old when he fell, and was brought to rest in the cemetery at Kibbutz Ginossar, where he lived, leaving his parents, sister and brother.
