Bloomberg, Aryeh-Ze’ev (Arinka)


Son of Malka and Yaakov, was born on November 10, 1927 in Tel Aviv to parents who immigrated from Russia. Arieh Ze’ev was educated in the spirit of love for Israel and for national buyers. He successfully graduated from the Hashmonaim elementary school, studied diligently and became fond of the teachers and his fellow students. Afterward he continued his studies and completed a commercial school. Despite commercial education, he wanted to live as a laborer and worked as a metalworker in the Bloom factory. He was a member of the Palmach and was a member of the Palmach in early January 1948. He was a moderate and peaceful lad, quick-paced, speech-minded and responsible for every word he uttered. “The khaki is more Yaffa than any garment,” he said, “because it obscures class differences and brings hearts closer.” Because he was serious in his behavior, he objected to daily entertainment because he saw them as a waste of spiritual powers needed for higher things. Arieh-Ze’ev wanted to learn and add knowledge, so he studied engineering, was interested in literature, and was an amateur. “I have to act and give my best.” Towards the end of April 1948, the “Yevusi” operation was carried out in the Jerusalem area, in order to create a Jewish territorial contiguity within the city and between Jerusalem and the communities in the north. “Harel” to Jerusalem and the night of April 22-23 attacked the forces of Shuafat, Beit Iksa and Nabi Samuel.The movement of Nabi Samwil took a long time and the assault began at dawn. Arie-Ze’ev fell on April 23, 1948 in a battle for Nabi Samuel and was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Anavim.
