Blender, Aharon


Aharon, son of Hannah and David Blender, was born in 1912 in Ostilla, Poland. In 1939 he immigrated to Israel on the Colorado boat and joined Kibbutz Gvat. On “Black Saturday” (29.6.1946), he was arrested by the British and sent to Rafah. He was among the last to return. On the 4th of Sivan 5708 (June 1, 1948), he went with some of the members of Gvat to guard the road between the farm and the Arab villages in which the enemy had been entrenched, and he will killed. Aharon was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery at Kibbutz Gvat. He left behind a wife and two children.
