Birnbaum, Naomi (Elisabeth)


Daughter of Margot and Yitzhak Kraus. She was born in 1921 in Budapest, Hungary. She served as secretary of the Zionist Organization in the Hungarian capital. She immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1940 and studied at the agricultural school in Nahalal. After graduating she married and the couple moved to Kiryat Haim near Haifa. In World War II, she enlisted in the WAFS Women’s Aid. First she served in Egypt and then at Stella Maris on Mount Carmel. On the 2nd of Cheshvan 5705 (19.10.1944) she died while serving and was brought to rest at the British military cemetery on the coast of Haifa.
