Bibi, Moshe


Moshe, born in 1950 in Baghdad, Iraq, immigrated to Israel with his family in 1951.was drafted into the IDF in early November 1967 and assigned to the Armored Corps . After completing his basic training, he completed a course in the Patton tank course. He was a responsible and dedicated soldier, and served as an example to his friends in his good temper, his passivity and obedience. During the War of Attrition he fought in the Sinai, and in one of the battles his tank was hit by enemy fire, but Moshe got out safely. He tried not to worry his parents, and in the letters he made sure to write home, he did not complain about the hard and arduous training. In June 1973 he married his girlfriend Dalia and had a husband and a devoted friend. He was also a loyal son, caring for his parents and very respectful. When the Yom Kippur War broke out he was drafted and sent with his unit to the front in Sinai. On the 17th of Tishrei 5734 (17.10.1973), west of the Suez Canal, on the banks of the sweet water channel, Moshe fell in battle. A shell hit him and he was killed on the spot. He was brought to eternal rest in the Petach Tikva cemetery. He left behind a wife, father, mother, three brothers, and six sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant.
