Berach, Pinchas
Son of Rivka-Chana and Yitzhak. He was born in Poland in 1911 and immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1933. He lived in Haifa, where he worked as an ice carrier and joined the ranks of the Haganah. On February 19, 1939, Arabs riots broke out in the city. As usual, Pinchas carried the ice and when he reached Hashomer Street he was shot and killed. He was laid to rest in the new cemetery in Haifa, with two other Jews who were murdered the day before. He left a wife, son, and brother who had immigrated to Eretz Israel two days earlier.
