Ben-Yosef (Stushil), Yitzhak

Yitzhak, son of Sarah and Moshe Son of-Yosef, was born on the 4th of Elul 5714 (4.9.1954) in Cluj, Romania, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1958. After completing basic training, he completed a tank artillery course and graduated with honors. In a regimental exercise held for the members of his unit, his crew excelled and as a reward he was awarded the rank of First Pvt. After the exercise he contracted jaundice and was hospitalized. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, he was called back to his unit and joined the crew of his tank. On 10 Tishrei, October 6, 1973, the four crew members were taken to the Suez Canal in a tank, and they disappeared. For a long time Yitzhak was considered as missing, but his body was found in July 1974 and he was brought to eternal rest in the Kiryat Shaul cemetery.
