Ben-Shiya (Ohayon), Chava
Daughter of Miriam and Shmuel Ohayon. Born in Casablanca, Morocco, on 2 January 1954, she immigrated to Israel with her family in 1955. She studied at Metzudot Elementary School in Kiryat Shmona and continued her studies at the Danziger High School in the city. Hava was a quiet girl, a loyal and devoted daughter to her parents and behaved perfectly to them. That was how she treated friends. She was a good student at school. Chava was recruited to the IDF at the end of January 1972. After completing basic training, she joined the Israel Air Force, where she served in various positions in the Israel Defense Forces until she served as a clinic manager in the unit. She was married to Albert, who served with her in the unit and they built their home in Kiryat Gat, where they had three children: Assaf, Ohad and Shira, who said that although she was married and a mother of three, she functioned effectively and maintained the clinic’s proper functioning. Received the “Yom Kippur War” signal and the “Peace of the Galilee” sign on the 3rd of Av 5790 (25.7.1990) Eve fell during her service and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Gat. She left behind a husband, two sons and a daughter, parents and eight brothers and sisters – Eliyahu, Therese, Jacob, Fanny, Yehudit, Dalia, Aviva and Yoram. After her death, her family received a certificate of appreciation and respect for her service in the permanent army. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, her commander wrote: “Eve and her clinic were synonymous with excellence and excellence, and Eve was a friend and friend of many on the wing, and a wonderful mother for charming children.” Her family immortalized her memory in a Torah library that donated to the synagogue in Kiryat Gat.
