Ben-Ra’i, Michal

Daughter of Fanny and Moshe. Born on 25.7.1982 in Netanya, where she grew up and educated, Michal began her studies at the Be’eri elementary school where she was diagnosed as a gifted student, and was already outstanding in her many talents, and in addition to her studies she excelled in sports, dance, painting and sculpture. For years she danced classical ballet, participated in gymnastics and gymnastics, and contributed greatly to the children’s school society – she took part in writing the weekly page in the school newspaper, helped with illustrations, and prepared posters. “The teacher in grades 4-6 recalls:” Michal remembers me as a smiling, Witty humor. Exceptionally talented, and yet modest. Very honest, with a healthy sense and a developed sense of justice. She paints wonderfully, and individualistically, in her work. A student like this, whom every teacher wishes for herself. She graduated from the “Sharett” High School in Netanya, where she studied mathematics, physics, and physics, As well as chemistry in the framework of the real trend, and completed her matriculation exams with honors, while continuing to cultivate her artistic and sporting skills, focusing on sculpture and painting, I met a pretty girl, smiling and shy, mixed with Mao In the social life of the class … Michal was not hesitant to present the irrationality of the words of one student or another and did not refrain from investing time, thought and good intentions In the activities of the Student Council for the benefit of the entire class … Michal with her classmates like a flower in a stranger, with a joyous and rolling laughter bursting in between … the loving qualities, the honesty, the help of the other in equality and not the condescension. Michal loved people but also loved animals very much, and nature in general. She enjoyed family trips all over the country and abroad, absorbed landscapes and other cultures and continued to develop. She demonstrated a mental independence that enabled her to stand up for her opinions, to express them honestly and courageously, and not to fear “swimming against the tide.” At the same time, she maintained modesty and did not “wave” her proven abilities. She spent a lot of time with her friends who loved her cynical and funny sides and knew she could be trusted. Being attentive and sensitive, with the ability to identify and understand with others, she never stood on the side but was an advisory, supportive and helpful. Her friends testify that she has always been able to say the right thing at the right time and draw out “witty sentences.” One of them says: “Michal had this uniqueness of turning things that look complicated into simple ones … The things that were done by her were always the most original and unique … The patience she had to listen to society, the patience she had to sit for hours explaining things to you that you did not understand And to explain again and again until you understand … … her amazing ability to put things in proportion, taking life lightly, so many special qualities in a single person, so special, yet so simple. ” Michal enlisted in the IDF in mid-March 2001 and was assigned to the Israel Air Force, and after completing basic training, she underwent a training course for the combat helicopter “Cobra” (“Viper”) and completed her course as a soldier. (Technical School) in Haifa, where she led a project to change the training of the Cobra helicoptersWill tempt the first course in which she will train and nurture the young soldiers who join the air force, but the plans were cut off while in Ivan. Michal arrived at Palmachim Air Force base as part of her training as a senior helicopter technician and instead lost her life in a horrific training accident. On the 26th of Nisan 5762 (March 26, 2002), she fell while carrying out her assignment while flying the Cobra helicopter. She suffered a fatal head injury from the helicopter’s rear rotor and was killed on the spot. She was 19 and a half. She was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya. Survived by her parents and three older siblings – Zohar, Shai and Ariel. After her death she was promoted to sergeant. In her letter of consolation to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “Michal was gifted with high personal abilities and demonstrated great dedication to her role as a soldier instructor in the” Viper “helicopter mechanic course. The people around her were loved by her friends and commanders alike … Michal knew how to stand up and express her clearly and sharply … We, the soldiers of the technical school and its commanders, are hurting Michal’s untimely death. ” Friends and lovers illuminated Michal’s special character: “I waited for quite a while to write these short lines … I waited until the day she had to be released … I waited until the moment when I had to … I have to turn the emotion into words … to turn the memory into lines of black and white that talk about A colorful girl, a colored walk girl, colorful talk and a colorful head, how hard it is to get into the place where Michal screams, from the painted walls Michal, from the empty cell, the sense of waste and nothingness. “To look into Mama’s eyes and explain why and how, I am glad that the connection between us was not connected to a commander-in-chief I knew her, that I saw her laughing and crying, that we were always the ones she left behind. ” Her best friend Rinat wrote in her memory: “… the most alive person – dead … We went through almost everything together, how can we go on without you? … You were the best, just better in everything … miss you, my childhood friend My soul mate, the best counselor I’ve ever had and ever will be … The impact on my life so much The impact on my beliefs, my way of thinking, the way I see this life … Michal, you saved me so much Many times in so many ways, and I had nothing to save you … “. Macy, a childhood friend, wrote: “We were a kind of bunch of six girls, and we were six, five on the ground, and you, right here above us, in your natural place – above everyone else … I miss the energy, the directness, the cynicism. I miss the genius answers you brought out in a moment, when you saw the slightest question about anything … My only hope is that you are in a better world, a world where your laughter continues to roll. And your absence will accompany me forever. ” Three years after her death, the friends wrote: “Time does not heal, time is not forgotten, time is only its function … and what kept us together, despite the great distance, was you … In the difficult moments, when we were alone, You have appeared, Michal, and this big and real smile of yours has risen again … And once again you have strengthened and strengthened yourself and set an example with your simple optimism and wisdom … Michal, in your life and in your death you changed us in our beliefs, our thoughts, our perception of life. NashPower. “
