The kibbutz members also loved him, they learned to know him mainly when he worked in the dining room. Nir took care of every friend, old and young; He soon learned what each of them liked and tried to get what they wanted – Nir loved people and always looked for help. A special relationship was created between Nir and Yoram, his older brother. Yoram, for his part, felt a little like Nir’s father, who gave him advice on how to behave in the army, in armor, and in life in general. His friends, his classmates, had enlisted a year earlier and Nir had quickly joined the members of the class below him. One of them was Amitai, the son of a farm that was a year younger than Nir, and was drafted into the army with him.Nai was really worried about him, and when Nir was not calling home, it was clear that Nir would make sure to report to him and reassure his parents. His parents knew how much they were worried about him and was willing to take a lot of trouble to calm them in. The seventy-three fighters, who made their way to operational activity in Lebanon, were killed. Among the fallen was Nir. He was only twenty years old when he fell. Nir was brought to rest in the IDF cemetery in Kibbutz Yifat, leaving behind his parents, two brothers and two sisters, and Nir was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant, and his family commemorated him in a playgroundThe kibbutz. This garden was renovated and given the name “Gan Nir”. A beautiful illuminated sign was placed there engraved with the name of the garden and details on paper. The family also published a booklet in his memory.
