Ben-Chamo, Eliezer

Eliezer, son of Simi and Avraham Son of-Chamo, was born on February 15, 1952 in Morocco. In 1962 he immigrated to Israel with his parents. He joined the IDF in August 1972. Shortly before his wedding, he was called up for reserve service. On July 4, 1979, Eliezer volunteered for a night shift with a group of policemen, to secure the beaches. That night he was wounded. He was rushed to the hospital and a few days later, on July 12, 1979, died of his wounds. He was 25 years old when he died. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Kiryat Ata cemetery. He left behind a mother and a sister.
