Ben-Ami, Avraham
Avraham, son of Livneh and Joseph, was born in Morocco in 1942 and immigrated to Israel in 1948. He graduated from the religious elementary school in Bat-Yam and received professional training. Avraham was the eldest son of a large family and went to work as a boy. Immediately after graduating from elementary school, he began working to help his parents support the family. He worked at various jobs during the day, while in the evening he studied mechanics. After completing his studies, he immediately went to work and worked for six years on a merchant ship. Avraham was a good son and very devoted to his parents. All his income from his work was devoted to them. He also helped his nine younger brothers and sisters in their studies and education. Avraham was drafted into the IDF in early 1959 and served in the Signal Corps in various technical positions, and he was a disciplined and loved soldier for his comrades and commanders, and after his discharge from the army he was released and assigned to a reserve unit. And a few months before the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War, he had a daughter, Avraham was an exemplary family man, a husband loyal to his wife, and a devoted father to his little daughter: In the Yom Kippur War, Avraham was a soldier in a liaison battalion of one of the formations who fought in Sinai. On 21.10.1973, he was killed while carrying out his duties in Sinai, and was brought to rest in the cemetery in Be’er Sheva.
