Beit-Yaakov, Isaac


Was born in 1928. He was an IDF soldier in the Carmeli Brigade, and his last attempt was to capture the city of Jenin, and after stopping the invasion of the Jordan Valley, our forces took the initiative and attacked the Gilboa area. On the night of June 2-3, the Carmeli Brigade attacked Jenin and occupied the outposts controlling the city.The Iraqi army, which moved to Samaria after its failure in the Jordan Valley, concentrated its forces and attacked it, and upon the pressure of this attack our forces were forced to withdraw. Yitzhak remained in an open field with an injured friend and put on his clothes, and in the meantime the two men were surprised by Iraqi soldiers. And to accompany them, and his captors murdered him. His friend wounded, abandoned by the murderers managed to escape. On the seventeenth of Elul, the Declaration (08/03/1950) was laid-rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
