Bar-Sheshet, Yosef (Yossi)


Yosef (Yossi), son of Zari and David, was born on 29.7.1955 in Mazagan, Morocco, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1955. He attended the Tzur Hadassa elementary school in Jerusalem and continued his studies at the school “Alumim” and “Ben-Atar” school in Dimona. Afterward, he studied at the religious high school in Dimona, where he was a good student and was very serious about his studies and was accepted by his friends and loved by his teachers. He was forced to work to help with the household, so he studied in the days and worked at night, he was a sturdy and solid lad, and was a sports fan, by nature he was cheerful and smiling, happy and generous. Yosef was conscripted to the IDF at the beginning of August 1973 and assigned to the Golani Brigade, where he was trained as a soldier. On November 24, 1973, Yossi died during his service and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Dimona. He was survived by a father, mother, five brothers and four sisters. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Yosef was a good soldier, loved by his commanders and friends.”
