Haim Adi grew up in a stable in the forest in Moshav Ya’ad, where he was a sports enthusiast and a lifeguard, and Adi’s many preoccupations opened up social circles and circles of interest that filled his life. Adi was a very sensitive and caring youth, attentive to the distress of others and able to help and support the weak and the poor in times of distress. In March 1996, Adi enlisted in the army, but his request to join an elite unit was rejected, but the IDF responded to his request not to serve in his profession as a mechanic, but as a fighter in the combat force. After finishing the military course and the NCO course, Adi served as a mechanical engineering equipment instructor at the central base of the Engineering Corps in the Uvda cliffs. His commanders testify that he was a dedicated and thorough soldier who loved his field of activity and invested great energy in it. He stood out for his leadership and demanded a high level of performance from his subordinates. Due to his high human sensitivity and the ability to listen to those around him, Adi became popular and admired by everyone – his subordinates, friends and commanders. On Saturday, 3 October 1997, Sgt. Adi was killed in a road accident when he left the moshav, riding on his beloved motorcycle, and the motorcycle turned into the opposite lane and crashed into a vehicle opposite. In the military section of the cemetery in Misgav he left behind his parents, a brother and two sisters, in memory of Adi, his father Samuel erected a modest monument at the site of the fatal accident. “Alongside the road, which overlooks the hills of the Misgav bloc, Adi’s childhood landscape, a small mound was built of the local stones. It is a delicate structure, almost spiritual, made of car parts and painted black, with an iron cup in its center, which serves as a jar for flowers, and above it hangs an ax with red paint on the other side. “I am the one who is forced to solve riddles, and against my will I know that if God were not filled with mercy, there would be mercy in the world, not only in him.” At a memorial service held on the anniversary of his downfall, one of his friends wrote: , Whose words were said in silence and his silence stronger than words, that he loved what he did and did what he loved. A kind of child like this, who is a true witness to his loved ones, and if we still gathered here today for your honor, Adi, I think you would prefer that we stand here quietly and stay quiet with you. “
