Azulai, Chaim

Son of Belinda and Joseph-Moses. He was born on November 10, 1985, in Caracas, Venezuela. Isaac’s eldest brother. “The day you were born,” his mother wrote, “was the happiest day of my life, you were a wonderful baby, always impatient, cheerful and playful, the little boy who always pushed and put himself in trouble that could never be ignored … Until your last moments, the people who knew you and loved you, recognized your unique quality and made you memorable, thanks to your affection, your authenticity, your witty remarks. ” Haim – Haimito, his nickname for Spanish – grew up in a secular-traditional family. He was educated at the Chabad kindergarten in Caracas in order to preserve Jewish character, and in the first and eighth grades he studied at the Moral Y Luces Herzl Bialik Jewish Community School in grades 9-10, In the ultra-Orthodox “Sinai” school in Caracas, in the 11th grade he studied at the Jewish Community School and completed 12th and 13th grade at the Rondalera High School in his city. Chaim was a restless student and had a hard time concentrating on classes unless the subject interested him. His parents divorced when he was five, and he grew up with his mother. Chaim loved his father very much; He had a good and close relationship with his parents and between him and Yitzhak, his brother two and a half years younger. Haim was a warm and emotional child, and he hugged and kissed his parents. Yitzhak and he shared the same friends, listened to music together, and together they had many experiences. As a child they used to spend time with their mother on the beach; And as is customary among brothers – sometimes they quarreled. In Venezuela, when a child leaves the house, it is customary for his parents to bless him “God bless you.” As a child, Haim adopted this statement, and when he left the house he made sure to say: “I love you and God bless you.” His brother Isaac also adopted this statement, and he uses it. Chaim had a gentle and sensitive soul. For example, when he watched with his mother in a film about a mouse that had lost his mother, he was sad and crying, so much so that they had to leave the cinema in the middle of the film. His mother affectionately called Pecnia (small in Spanish). Chaim was a loving family type, ready and ready for gestures of love at all times, a constant smile on his face. He enjoyed spending time with his aunts and his maternal grandmother, and maintained close telephone contact with the extended family. Haim loved very little children; They made him tender and happy and gave him back love. He is remembered among his friends as a great mischievous man for the innumerable tricks and jokes that delighted everyone, for he liked to tell jokes and amuse his audience. Chaim was a loyal friend, and he used to invent nicknames for everyone he loved. Independent and original in his mind, was endowed, among other things, with a sense of commerce; Once he sold items from his home to his classmates and neighbors, and from the money he earned he bought himself sneakers and clothes. Haim listened to rock music and studied alone to play classical guitar and electric guitar. He even formed a rock band with his brothers and they participated in several competitions. In leisure he enjoys watching movies on computer and television programs on animals, going out to celebrate with friends and of course listening to music. As a child he swam and practiced karate and other martial arts from the East. He inherited his love for fishing from his grandfather, his mother’s father. In general, it goes on everything related to the sea, including diving. Life loved animals. His father had bought him and his brother a horse; The horse lived on a horse farm, and Chaim rode it with great pleasure. As an adventurer, he was seventeen years old and immigrated to Israel alone. On August 26, 2003, he began studying Hebrew at Ulpan Aleph in Kibbutz Ramat Yochanan. He lived, studied and worked in the kibbutz until January 30, 2004. Rachel Yaffe, the studio director, wrote in his memory: “Haim is a very nice guy, with a personal charm that melts hearts … Haim started the studio in class. And who will be able to learn better while working. So he went to work in the stable and ran his life in Hebrew. Chaim was happy and went well. Haim also proved to be a man of great resourcefulness and courage when a fire broke out in the studio. A guest who slept with us at night locked himself in the room, the stove turned on and began to burn. Haim, who heard the cries for help, ran to the room, disconnected the electricity, took the guy out the window, and then brought a fire extinguisher and turned off the fire. Thanks to his resourcefulness and courage, the boy was saved and the damage was much smaller than what might have been. Haim Gimelman, who was born in Colombia, said: “When I met him for the first time, he looked like a typical teenager with me. Long hair and slack pants. Jaime approached me and asked me questions about the army. I told him a little, including where I served, passed the evening and laughed at many things, and from that moment on he and I became the best friends. When we started our studies, we can not say that we learned a lot, because most of the time we lived and we were not so attentive to our studies. Jaime told me in those days of his lofty goals to be a combat soldier in the IDF. For my part, I explained to him more and more … We would go out to run in the evenings, so that he would develop good fitness … I remember the night we spent at a small party organized together with some of our friends in one of my rooms Jaime knew Melanie, a beautiful young French woman whom he had fallen in love with, and a few days later they could be seen together all the time … They were the perfect couple … Jaime eventually became a little brother who I looked after and helped him with. Jaime and I were the last to leave … Haya did not have many relatives in Israel, apart from his uncles in Netanya. Decided to go and live with his girlfriend Melanie … In those days he was supposed to be drafted. I remember that he was a bit frightened, but at the same time, he was filled with enthusiasm and expectations. A few days later, I received a phone call from him telling me that he had managed to get into the same combat unit I was in. I was very happy and felt very proud of him as a brother. It was not easy for him to adapt to this new and different pace of life, but eventually he succeeded …. Time made him grow up as a man … and now he is a man who knows what he wants and what his goals are in life. In addition, he would tell me what his plans were after the army. He wanted to begin his studies in fish farming; His passion for the sea was enormous. … When he went out for Shabbat from the army, we would go together to dive. … We would go out at night or we would sit down to talk about many things. … I had to consult with him about every decision … We became very close friends. … I attended the graduation ceremony of his basic training. “When we were so far away from our loved ones, and after we immigrated to Israel while we were so young, we learned to build new friendships, as strong as family ties,” said Tomer Sidler and Roi Maman. Jaime was part of this fraternity: more than a friend, he was an irreplaceable part of a great puzzle game. … Chaim fully embodied the meaning of his name; He caught up with us with his optimism in life, in his joy and in his friendship. “The memory of Haimito will always accompany us, his masterpiece will continue to guide us and will continue to be in each of us through his kind, lively, sweet and good-hearted soul.” Tamara Greenbaum Zin’s letter was signed by seventy-eight members from Argentina, Belgium, From Colombia, Cuba, France, Italy, Israel, Turkey, Morocco, Russia, Uruguay and Venezuela: “On the day that Haimito taggedAnd he was very excited and excited by the unit in which he was to serve, which gave us great pride, the knowledge that he really gave the most to serve his country, and when he went out on weekends he would tell us about his adventures as a soldier, But he always knew how to see the positive side of everything … he fought in the war in Lebanon, and that was why we were very worried about it. His country … In our thoughts and hearts, the moments we experienced together, the adventures we shared, the conversations, the moments of laughter and the image of such a loved one, And we will remember it for the rest of our lives. ” Haim decided to enlist in combat service. He underwent fitness tests and joined the IDF on July 10, 2005 as a lone soldier, completing a track and a half year of military service, and was a combat soldier in the Nahal Brigade. A target: Itzik Solimani, a friend of the army, wrote to his mother Belinda: “There are countless stories about life. Chaim was a storyteller. … He managed to get everyone into the heart. Chaim is one of the people whose presence could not be missed. Always with a smile on his face, a mischievous look, and an accent that was only his. He had the ability to sit with any person, to listen, to talk, to tell him what he went through as a lone soldier, and to tell just funny stories from life or from weekends in Tel Aviv. “Yuval Nir added:” I remember first of all that great smile he had. His ability to melt all the commanders into the serious face and make everyone smile. … He was one of the people who took life as one big adventure … There was something so alive, so positive, that it was just contagious. I remember that he came back from a weekend at home once and told me how all his Israeli friends laughed at him because he called for a picnic they did on Saturday. He told it and laughed with himself at the same time. He never took himself too seriously, he was never ashamed. … he was a cannon soldier. A little guy with the strength of someone three times the size of him, carrying on his back people who weighed at least one and a half times him … He complained all the time, but it was always a joke, always smiling, when Chaim was complaining and the whole team roared with laughter. “Life was a loved one, with a unique sense of humor that made everyone laugh at any moment, who loved life and made others happy even in the most difficult moments. … He was like a real brother to me and I adored him. “” Haim managed to catch up with each of the staff, which is magical to me, “stressed his friend.” I call him ‘the germ of life.’ A good bacterium that is stored in memory and occasionally makes sure to burst out with a smile, a laugh, a tear and every heavy South American accent. “During his service, Haim went to visit his parents in Venezuela, and he spoke with his mother about the future. He was planning to propose a marriage to his girlfriend Melanie, he saw her as the woman of his life, and he dreamed of learning fish farming, and after about half an hour Haim went with a friend to a bar, On January 19, 2007. He was twenty-one years old when he fell, and was brought to eternal rest in a cemetery in Caracas, He was succeeded by his parents and brother Yitzhak and his father died on May 20, 2014. His mother immigrated to Israel in December 2010. Eight years after his death, on the 6th of Cheshvan 5766 (6.11.2015), Haim’s body was brought to Israel and he was buried At a full military ceremony at the Netanya military cemetery.Chaim was able to bring happiness to those around him, influenced his friends and taught them how to deal with difficulties and how to adapt to changes – did not fulfill his dreams. “My very dear son, Haimito is loved by my heart,” wrote his mother, “a person who changed my life and gave me the absolute feeling of fullness, that is, being a mother … there were all the opportunities to call you to Israel to talk, to embrace you and to kiss you, To hear stories that have always ended in laughter … to get close to your neck to kiss you and to breathe the scent of the most beloved person … Your good heart and your virtues that are part of your special soul will continue to rise to a higher level after performing their mission in this world. Your spiritual life will never go away … Only the memories of your essence remain with me, the glint of your gaze, your honest and unconcerned smile, You were so special that you even left me the legacy of wonderful and generous friends who always loved you for what you were, and for your friend Melanie, who loved you with all her heart, her family who loved you like And many adventures and experiences … I am very honored to know what you have been able to harvest in your 21 short but very full years, your virtues, your humility, your joy of life, your courage and fighting spirit … I watched you when you were born, I raised you with all the love and devotion I could feel, I saw you grow into a man, you made me feel proud, happy about your accomplishments. ” Ilan Gitelman, his close friend, told him: “He left me a lot of advice, from which I learned a great deal, through looking at life, how to treat people, the desire for life and the energy to go out of the way. With ideals that decided to immigrate from his native land and be exposed to the future alone, and decided to serve his country Israel, and dedicated the best of his part to everything he did … … will always be in the hearts and hearts of many people who knew him. ” His mother’s husband, Carlos, eulogized him at a funeral in Israel. “Today, Haim’s body returned to Israel, close to his mother, to her home, a home he loved so much and now connects to his body. , And his values as a person, his caring for the extended family, his mother, grandmothers – “I live life as if he were alive.” Haim came up as a lone soldier who overcame all the obstacles he had endured. “He said.
