Azaria, Shlomo (Shlomi)


Son of Yvonne and Albert. Born on July 21, 1969 in the city of Lod, he attended the Chaim Weizmann State Elementary School, and continued his studies at the ORT school in Israel Aircraft Industries, where he completed his studies. While in elementary school he participated in activities of the Gadna, liked to read, and read books by various writers, and during his free time he also dealt with sports, especially soccer. In late July 1987, Shlomi was drafted into the IDF and assigned to the technical school in Haifa. After a short period of time he requested a transfer, and he was assigned to the maintenance corps as a truck driver. During the period of his service, he was careful to preserve religion. On the 27th of Kislev 5749 (27.11.1988) he fell in the line of duty. The truck that drove her down into the abyss around Ma’aleh Adumim. He was buried in the military cemetery in Lod. Survived by his parents and two sisters – Rachel and Amalia. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Shlomi was very fond of the soldiers, very diligent and diligent, and contributed greatly to the company’s life.” Among his personal belongings was a personal diary that documented certain periods of his life. In the elementary school where he studied, the Milaga Foundation was established in his memory.
