Son of Bruria and Dr. Avraham, was born on April 30, 1928 in Haifa. He participated in disrupting Arab transport in the Jordan Valley and in bombing and sabotage operations in the villages that served as bases for gangs and infiltrators across the border. At the end of the winter of 1948 he was sent with his battalion to the Upper Galilee Mountains around Safed, took part in the Palmach raid on Sasa, participated in the defense of Ein Zeitim as commander of the area, The night after the departure of the British from Safed and after handing over all the key points to the Arabs, he arrived with the Palmach unit that had infiltrated Safed, reinforced the spirit of the local defenders, took part in the defense of the Jewish Quarter in Safed and was particularly active in ambushing Arabs who tried to infiltrate the area through the ruins.
