Avrahami, David
David, son of Lea and Reuven, a veteran of the Yishuv in Eretz Israel, was born on March 21, 1943, in Petach Tikvah. David was drafted into the IDF at the end of July 1961 and was assigned to the Infantry Corps and after completing basic training, he was sent to a paratroop training course and was assigned to a Parachute Infantry Unit, and was given the rank of corporal. During the Six-Day War he fought, as part of a reserve service, as a platoon sergeant. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant. During the Yom Kippur War, Dudu fought with the force that reached the outskirts of the city of Ismailia, and his progress was halted there when the cease-fire came into force. The next day, on October 25, 1973, a heavy bombardment hit the unit and David was killed. He was laid to rest in the civil cemetery in Ein Gedi. He left behind a wife, two daughters and a mother. After his fall, he was promoted to First Sergeant.
