Artman, Edgar


Son of Sarah and Elimelech was born on June 19, 1914, in the city of Osijek, then in Austria, later in Yugoslavia. He had a high education, completed a trade academy and worked as a clerk. He served as a lieutenant in the Yugoslavian army. The events of the war gave him the will to immigrate and in September 1945 he immigrated to Israel. He lived and worked in Binyamina. On April 27, 1948, he enlisted, served in the Alexandroni Brigade and participated in various activities, including on the Latrun front. On the 25th of Tammuz 5708 (1.8.1948), he lost his life in a road accident, while he was near Nabi Rubin and was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Binyamina. He left behind a wife – and a child.
