Ben Miriam and Aryeh. He was born on March 18, 1972 in Kiryat Tivon. The youngest of the family’s four children. Yariv attended the Kiryat Amal elementary school and the Ort Greenberg high school in Kiryat Tivon in the biology track. Yariv was a born athlete. Swimming was his favorite sport and from the age of three he spent many hours swimming in the swimming pool with his older sister, sporting a stylish and fast swim. When he was eleven, he went to play a water ball in the Hapoel Kiryat Tivon team and excelled in it. Three years later, he was joined to Israel’s national team in water polo and later to the senior team, which represented the country in games and competitions in Europe. The many trophies and medals that he left behind attest to his personal achievements and the achievements of his group. Yariv took a diving course and was involved in it during his free time. He also completed a lifeguard course and was the lifeguard in the pool where he practiced. Yariv was a tall, handsome young man, cheerful, lively, humorous, popular and popular in society. He had many friends in Kiryat Tivon and in nearby and far-off communities. Yariv loved nature and was very interested in the knowledge of the country and its trips, read many natural and natural books and watch nature movies, travel and adventure. He was a pleasant and interested conversationalist, and he was knowledgeable about many subjects. In 1990, his sister, Smadar, died of a serious illness while serving in the Israel Defense Forces, and Yariv refused to serve in a rear unit and chose to serve in a combat unit in an elite unit. He joined the IDF in mid-February 1991. During his service, after being wounded, he underwent an officer’s course and served as a transport officer. His commander said that he did his job well, showing initiative, diligence, perseverance, responsibility and a spirit of volunteerism. Yariv was careful about discipline, safety, management and execution of tasks. Was acceptable and accepted among all the soldiers of the unit. On the 29th of Tishrei 5754 (29.9.1993), Yariv received the rank of lieutenant and went with his friend, St.-Sgt. Roi Shohat, to celebrate the receipt of the rank on the way back to Kiryat Tivon.
