Ran ben Zeev and Henya was born on the 9th of Av, July 28, 1936, in Moshav Ein Vered.In August 1954, he was drafted into the IDF and volunteered for a pilots’ course, which was successfully completed, and in 1956 he was promoted to a combat pilot in the Israel Air Force and later served as a flight instructor in the Air Force’s flight school, He participated in the Six-Day War, where he was the first to take off after the signal was issued for an attack in the Sinai. In 1970 he took command of the electronics school at the IAF Technical School, and in 1972 he moved to serve as a pilot. He took part in the Yom Kippur War and did the missions of the squadron. On the 18th of Elul 5738, September 9th, 1978 at the end of a reserve duty, he fell.. Ran was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He left behind a wife, two daughters, a father and a brother. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the commander of the unit wrote: ” Ran was liked by all of his friends, had a special sense of humor, creating a good atmosphere, and he always responded to every call with good spirit.
