Adler, Shlomo Aharon

Son of Hinda-Sarel and Yosef, was born in Hungary on June 15, 1930. Shlomo Aharon was a lover of the Land of Israel and therefore left his parents’ home and succeeded in immigrating to Israel in 1946. He found his livelihood in repairing radio and electricity. Upon the outbreak of the War of Independence he joined the Jerusalem Brigade, took part in the fighting in the city and its vicinity and was sent with reinforcements to Gush Etzion. His Lev predicted that he would not return from the battles but felt proud of his willingness to sacrifice himself for the homeland. On 12 May, the Arab Legion and irregular forces carried out a heavy attack on the Gush and managed to locate it in two. The next day, May 13, the attack continued and Kfar Etzion fell. The exact day of his death is unknown; He fell on one of the two days of the battle, on May 13, 1948, and was buried together with the other martyrs of the Gush in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem on the 17th of Cheshvan 5710 1949).
