Adiv (Adelson), Shlomo (Sasha)
Son of Aharon and Ita. He was born on April 21, 1916, in Vilna, Poland. After finishing high school in his homeland, he studied for two years at the university’s Faculty of Humanities; Was absorbed by the Jewish spirit and by the city. From the age of 12 he belonged to the Hashomer Hatzair movement and was a member of the main leadership there, and in 1939 joined Kibbutz Amir. He was involved in cultural matters and lectured on literary subjects with enthusiasm and love, And for the last five years of his life was the commander of the Marcus camp, an officer with the rank of major in the permanent army, who knew how to protect the rights of his subordinates and to care for them. And as a military instructor to impart the Enlightenment, he succeeded in bringing his men closer to the point where many of them saw him as their spiritual father. He fell on the 27th of Sivan 5703 (June 10, 1953) He fulfilled his duties and was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa, where he left a wife, a son and a daughter.
