Ababa, Elad Amera
Ben Takla and Desa. He was born in the village of Davar in Ethiopia on January 1, 1971. In 1984, Elad immigrated to Israel with his family, who settled in Be’er Sheva, where he studied at an elementary school in the city, He was an outstanding student and accepted by the director of the boarding school as a “success story, both scholastically and socially.” In 1989, the family moved to Kfar Saba and two years later, in July 1991, Elad enlisted in the IDF. After preparing for service as part of the “Magen Zion” project, he underwent basic training in the IDF, and from there was sent to study mechanics and electric cars at the IDF Armaments School. He was an introvert, quiet and humble, and at the same time was conspicuous in his diligence, dedication and high motivation, and was loved by his friends and commanders. During his vacations from the army, he devoted himself entirely to his family, helped his parents and took care of his brother. On April 3, 1994, Elad fell while serving. Survived by his parents, brother – Alon, and three sisters – Eternity, Zohara and Ofra. He was twenty-three years old when he fell. He was laid to rest in the Kfar Saba military cemetery.
